Cragganmore was founded in 1869 by John Smith, and named after the Craggan Mor hill whose stone built the distillery. Now owned by Diageo, the single malt is marketed under their Classic Malts brand. A Speyside whisky, it is known for fruity, honeyed notes with toffee and fruitcake making an appearance, and a hint of sweet smoke. A duo of whiskies come from the distillery: the 12 year old and Distiller's Edition, that undergoes a second maturation in casks that have held fortified port wine. Cragganmore Distillery Visitors’ Centre is open April–October for guided tours (from £5).
