The Crannach Bakery
Started by Doug Cookson in 1999 as a café and gallery, the coffee shop side of business quickly took on a life of its own – and is now run separately as Riverside Cottage. Using wood-fired ovens to bake a range of loaves, scones and cakes, Cookson sells from farmers' markets around the area. He's a member of both the Slow Food and Real Bread campaigns, and teaches bread-making workshops in spring and autumn to pass on his ethos of taking control of the food we eat.
