Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2014/15 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

This review is taken from the current (2014) edition.

Glasgow's love affair with buffet-style dining is boundless, and it has found the ultimate mistress at this popular buffet-orama in the midst of Sauchiehall's staggering nightlife district. In the premises formerly Slumdog, Cook and Indi have managed to pack in more people in a weekend than Slumdog attracted in its entire existence, with hordes descending for the nicely priced buffets – unbelievably priced when you consider you get unlimited food from various cuisines for a little over a tenner, half that at lunchtime, give or take a couple of quid depending on days. On offer are starters and mains from five cuisines: Indian (their strongest), Chinese/Thai, Japanese, Italian and sushi (controversially counted as a separate cuisine from Japanese). Head up to the serving areas to choose from the range, safe in the knowledge that the turnaround is phenomenally quick so no danger of food sat around getting buffet fatigue – that's what the patrons tend to get after a few return visits. With other venues outside Glasgow, World Buffet's style of dining could well go global.

Really did not enjoy. I've visted before and had the same problems but not as bad.
The waiting staff hover over you awkwardly so they can take your plate away asap. Had to say that I wasn't finished multiple times.
While eating your meal you also have what looks like a manager come up and check to see if you're okay a couple times, you don't get any peace to enjoy your meal.
The waiting staff looked bored and the chef looked so miserable.

It was Mother's Day also, so I payed double for the pleasure.

I never have left a review before but on the off chance that this comes to their attention then it'd be good because this issue can be fixed.
