The Deeside Brewery relaunched under new ownership in 2012 after a bumpy year: originally founded in 2006 by Rob James, he was forced to close it in 2011 after struggling to secure necessary investment. In January 2012, an anonymous local businessman filled this gap, making it possible not only to reopen, but to increase production so much the brewery moved to new premises in June 2013, and took on a full-time sales manager. To top it off, 2012 also saw them host the first ever Deeside Charity Beer Festival. The Deeside beer range is made up of LAF, an ultra-fizzy lager-style beer (known in the US as steam beer); their signature golden ale Macbeth; Brude, a blonde; an IPA called Nechtan, and Talorcan, a stout.
