The Houston Brewing Company
The Wengel family ran the Fox and Hounds pub for 34 years, setting up the Houston micro-brewery in 1997 in the cellar. The business was bought in January 2013 by Stewart Robertson and Andrew Anderson, locals who had been regular customers for many years. They plan to refurbish the pub and, before too long, relocate the brewery to nearby larger premises to up production. Currently, seven regular ales and a recently released bottled beer, Houston Crystal, are joined by a monthly special. Pale ale Peter’s Well was voted CAMRA’s Champion Best Bitter of Great Britain 2011.
