Founded in 2004, Stewart aren’t resting on their laurels as one of Scotland’s most successful breweries, having brought out two new ales in the first half of 2012. Zymic, a cask golden mild, and triple-hopped Radical Road join a long list of permanent and specials, roughly half cask, half bottle, including the very well known Edinburgh Gold, Pentland IPA and Embra. They also recently launched the Hopinator, a machine that pulls your chosen beer through fresh hops before it hits your glass. Expansion has been such that they moved into a new 30-barrel premises in May 2013, enabling production to rise from 500,000 litres of beer a year to 2.5 million in the subsequent two years.
Stewart also offers the chance for you to brew up your very own craft beer by scheduling a 'Brewday' (by phone or online). Under the brewmaster's watchful eye, choose your beer, complete the brewing process, then come back in two to three weeks to pick up your sudsy spoils.
