J. Lawrie & Sons, trading as Jaffy's, are a family-run smokehouse in Mallaig, founded in 1944 by George 'Jaffy' Lawrie and run since the 1990s by his grandson Jeff. Jaffy's run a fish & chip shop in Mallaig but also sell their own smoked fish, cured according to the family recipe and smoked over sherry cask chips. They offer hot-roasted and cold-smoked salmon, but also oak-smoked haddock, Drambuie- and also honey-glazed roasted salmon and their prized Mallaig kippers, winners of 3 gold stars at the Great Taste Awards in 2012. Jaffy's smoked fish is available from the company's online shop, as well as from their retail outlet.
