With good, tasty home baking, old-fashioned favourites on the menu and a fresh and appealing ambience, this is the kind of cheery tearoom you’d hope to find in your own neighbourhood. The room is simply furnished with bright paintings on the walls by local artist and the proprietor’s father Gordon Laird. There’s a table laden with homemade cakes and their scones and pancakes are revered locally. As well as a regular menu of filled rolls, toasties and baked potatoes, they have two freshly made soups each day and hot specials such as local haddock and chips and the classic herring and oatmeal.
