Spice Cupboard is the initiative of Edinburgh-based Joty Sharma, who offers personal Indian cooking lessons in your own home. Having learned how to cook traditional Indian food from her mother, and currently passing the same skills onto her own children, Sharma believes that instead of the often greasy, anglicized meals served in Indian restaurants, home cooking should be healthy and delicious. The two-to-three-hour lessons, available in EH postcodes, include tuition, recipe cards and spices, and sessions can be tailored for traditional curries or more modern Indian cuisine, with prices starting around £75 for one or two participants. For larger groups or supper parties, a Demo plus Dinner package is also available.
