Farmers here for over 20 years, the Todd family’s farm shop has burgeoned from small beginnings in the garden shed to the present log cabin shop and tea room with adjacent outdoor adventure play area. Honest and hearty dishes are well-priced and made with conviction. Staples such a full Scottish farmhouse breakfast are followed by lunchtime soups and jacket potatoes, alongside more substantial daily specials such as mince and tatties or macaroni cheese. Home-baking comes in the form of puddings and scones, or the full afternoon tea treat of smoked Scottish salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, mini-scones and pancakes, dainty cakes and meringues.
