Currently in its first year of business, Pittenweem's Little Herb Farm has already created a unique market for itself, selling fruit, herb and floral vinegars which are intended to be diluted and drunk like a cordial or as a dressing for salads and ice-creams. Flavours include raspberry and rosemary, tayberry and sage or strawberry and basil, with herbs coming from their own garden. Herb jellies combine apple with various flavours, or use elderberries, gooseberries or mulled damsons as a base, and a range of slow-infused botanical vinegars calls on flavours both familiar and curious: four thieves, provence, or nasturtium. Their own shop is in planning, but until it opens you can buy from Ardross Farm Shop, St Andrews Botanic Garden shop and the Cocoa Tree Cafe.
