Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

This Bruntsfield branch of Artisan Roast underwent a makeover in 2017 with lots of white paint and pine replacing the previous boho vibes. What hasn’t changed is the attention paid to the coffee, from bean to machine to cup. Sourcing via direct trade and building relationships with farms around the globe, Artisan Roast is still at the top of its game despite increased competition across the city. Substantial pastries and decent avo toast, sandwiches from their Stockbridge kitchen or Union of Genius soup keep the food offerings above average if you need something to soak up your Chemex or Aeropress fix. Great baking, such as white chocolate and raspberry scones, mean it’s often worth staying for a second cup, too.
