Cambus O'May Cheese Co
Cambus O’May produces traditional farmhouse cheeses from family recipes passed down to founder Alex Reid by his grandmother. Handmade from unpasteurised milk, the company combines traditional methods and state-of-the-art technology to make award-winning cheeses from its base in the Cairngorms National Park. The range includes a flagship cheddar, a deliciously pungent smoked variety called Auld Reekie, and a new blue cheese is in the pipeline. A regular presence at nearby farmers’ markets, the company supplies cheese shops throughout the country including Mellis in Edinburgh and Glasgow. But the best way to sample is at source washed down with a glass of wine — visitors can pop in and watch the cheeses being made from a viewing platform in the creamery.
