Numerous factors have situated Nahm Jim at the forefront of St Andrews’ dining scene. In 2008, it was voted best Thai restaurant in the UK in a Sunday Times review, followed by top position in the Thai category of Britain’s Best Restaurant, hosted by Gordon Ramsay. Months later, the restaurant garnered its first AA Rosette. This stellar performance owes much to the consistency of Nahm Jim’s core team of chefs and servers, many of whom have been with the business since its 2002 inception. The restaurant has evolved its menu to feature an array of traditional and innovative Thai dishes (the Thai haggis is a particular must-try) alongside Japanese cuisine and an expansive sushi selection. The restaurant sprawls across two floors, the lower of which opens from noon daily. Downstairs tends to be lively and a more relaxed dining experience can be enjoyed upstairs, which offers tables from 6pm.
