A traditional country house hotel based in Fortingall, a small village eight miles from Aberfeldy. Well placed for field and river sports and munro bagging – Schiehallion and Ben Lawers are both nearby – it makes up for being remote by having a restaurant, function room and pub on the premises. The main dining room and The Ewe Bar have open fires for the long winter months, with separate restaurant and bar menus served. The latter is a short selection of pub classics - sausage and mash, fish & chips, prawn marie-rose – and on Friday evenings is set to the tunes of ‘Fred the Fiddle’, and any other musicians keen to join him. The restaurant - to which pre-booked non-residents are welcome - uses venison from Glenlyon Estate, as well as seasonal vegetables from the Estate or the hotel’s gardens. Guests can also request packed lunches for days out.
We are proud to have been awarded two AA rosettes for our Head Chef's imaginative and delicious cuisine. Dinner is served in either the stylish Arts and Crafts dining room, or the cosier Yew dining room.
Our Head Chef, Darin Campbell, has an excellent reputation, having previously worked with Gordon Ramsay and Andrew Fairley. He and his team carefully source seasonal and local produce and create imaginative and tempting dishes for a menu that changes each day.
