A café and bar housed within a contemporary performing arts space, with views of the adjoining Hidden Gardens community project.

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).
The café in this well-loved Southside arts venue is over two levels. The ground floor is child-friendly and includes a children’s nook; tables on the mezzanine may be a better choice if you prefer a quieter ambience. When weather permits, the award-winning Hidden Gardens is a pleasant place to while away an hour with a coffee and a slice. Cooked breakfast rolls are available until midday with a choice of fried fillings. Soups change daily with options ranging from the typical leek and potato or lentil to more unusual combinations such as sweet potato, courgette and basil. A small selection of fillings such as egg mayonnaise, tuna mayonnaise and cheese and chutney are served in sandwiches, atop a baked potato or with the house salad of leaves, cucumber and pepper strips in a mustard-seed vinaigrette.
