The cool serenity of Artisan Roast makes it an ideal spot to hide away from the world with a cup of coffee.

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).
A popular hang-out for students, this branch of Artisan Roast has the brand's typical attention to coffee perfection and a delicious range of sandwiches, on artisan bread, and cakes: prepared on the premises, they have unique combinations of flavours at a fair price. The atmosphere is mellow, and the staff manage to combine coffee hipness with excellent, friendly service. The enthusiasm for good, smooth coffee is evident in the range of options (the chemex makes a welcome appearance on the menu) and the presentation. The food is ideal for a lighter lunch, although the courses are all filling and tasty. The customers will often take their time over coffee, giving Artisan Roast its distinctive relaxed vibe and the smell of the coffee is enough to give a quick caffeine high.
