The Allan Ramsay Hotel
The Allan Ramsay Hotel is situated in the small village of Carlops, set on the edge of the Pentlands Regional Park, 10 miles south of Scotland s capital city Edinburgh. It is a charming old coaching inn, with lots of character, dating from 1792 and is named after Allan Ramsay, the celebrated Scottish poet whose statue can be found in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh. We have 4 comfortable bedrooms, all ensuite, a restaurant serving mostly local produce and a well-stocked bar, with an open fire place, which is very popular with hill-walkers, tourists and local people. The Allan Ramsay Hotel is the perfect place to relax and escape into the beautiful Pentland Hills, or if you prefer it provides a great place to stay if you wish to explore the delights of the city of Edinburgh.
