Classy, sleek, Hilton-based steakhouse with contemporary design features, Perthshire steaks, prettily presented dishes and fine wines.

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).
Now a seasoned veteran on the Byres Road food scene, Bo’Vine has an opulent appearance with the focus being on two of the finer things that life has to offer – steak and wine. The décor goes hard on the theme of the menu with cow-patterned pillars, imposing bullhead fixtures and a wall of wine. The menu and music are noticeably hotel-style which depletes its individuality somewhat but is to be expected when it’s situated in the Hilton Hotel. A starter of Stornoway black pudding, poached hen’s egg, pancetta and jus is expertly presented, while the creamy garlic mushrooms doused in melted smoked Arran cheddar is comforting, and makes for a richly satisfying started. From the grill, there’s a wealth of sides and sauces to match your choice of cut. The bone marrow gravy is particularly good, giving the 8oz ribeye a wholesome buttery tang. Knowledgeable waiters serve up a well-rounded selection of wines in large goblet glasses; with wines neatly categorised by flavour on the menu.
