Birsay Bay Tearoom

On the northerly tip of Orkney Mainland, the Birsay Bay Tearoom overlooks the Brough of Birsay and towards Marwick Head, with incredible coastal views whatever the weather. The modern tearoom offers an all-day menu of light lunches, home baking and snacks incorporating Orkney produce – a platter of farmhouse cheese and local ham comes with Stockans oatcakes and Westray chutney, for example, or there’s soup served with a cheese scone or oatcake, and Jollys smoked salmon on a bagels or fresh local bread. There are several walks nearby and the tearoom also has a few bikes for hire should you be feeling particularly energetic.
