Clarks is a respected fine foods wholesaler to restaurants and food shops in Scotland. Based in Midlothian, they are particularly noted for their cheeses, supplying most of the fine artisan cheeses of Scotland along with a selection from elsewhere in the British Isles and the continent. Their other lines (over 2000 of them) include charcuterie, oils, chocolate and patisserie. Run by Alastair and Jill Clark, who founded the company in 1993, and co-director Pierre Leger, an online shop was recently introduced to open up their huge portfolio to the general public. They supply everyone from Restaurant Martin Wishart and Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles to Inverlochy Castle Hotel and Turnberry Resort.
