The Scottish Deli on Pitlochry’s Atholl Road is a smaller space than its sister shop in Dunkeld, but this is the town where local man Alec Cruikshank began his enterprise in 2005, under the name 'Food For Thought' nearby on West Moulin Road. Both his delis proffer the same selection of Scottish and continental cheeses and charcuterie, and the same menu of rolls, baguettes, salads and ciabattas, filled, for example, by Isle of Kintyre applewood smoked cheddar with apricot and ginger chutney, or smoked Rannoch duck with chilli, garlic, red onion and lime marmalade. Daily changing homemade soups, scones, cakes and traybakes are also available to take away or sit in at the window stools.
