Having mastered ice cream and crisps, Mackie’s turned their sights to chocolate and launched a range of bars in 2014. The four flavours are made at a chocolate factory on the fourth generation family farm using cocoa liquor from Ghana: honeycomb – the crunch made in small batches in the sweetie kitchen on site; a dark bar flavoured with Scottish mint; traditional milk with a touch of Scottish malt; and a 70% dark chocolate. Since 1986, Mackie’s have been using the cream and milk from their 450 cow dairy herd to make Scotland’s leading ice cream: a chocolate and ice cream parlour is planned for 2017 for the ultimate showcase of their sweet labours in central Aberdeen. They are also well known for premium crisps, made in partnership with the potato experts at Taylor family farm and other Perthshire potato farmers since 2009. An award-winning environmental business, Mackie’s farm is powered by renewable energy from their own wind turbines and a solar panel farm.
Traditional luxury dairy ice cream in a range of flavours – Traditional (natural & creamy), Honeycomb, Chocolate, Choc Mint, Strawberry & Cream, Raspberry Ripple. Mackie's ice cream dairy, chocolate factory and dairy farm is not a visitor centre.
