Cairn O'Mohr make wine out of locally available fruit, including brambles, strawberries, raspberries, apples, elderflowers and elderberries, and a measure of their success is that they've been doing it since 1987. The winery offers tours from April to October, at the end of which you can sample the wine.

To celebrate 30 years in business Cairn O'Mohr created new bottle labels for their core range – Strawberry, Raspberry, Bramble, Elderberry, Spring Oak Leaf, Autumn Oak Leaf and Gooseberry & Elderflower wines.

Supplied by local berry farmers, harvesting from their own elder orchard and foraging from nearby hedgerows, husband-and-wife team Ron and Judith Gillies have been producing all manner of fruit wines at their homely little farm in the Carse of Gowrie since 1987. Regular varieties include bramble wine and an award-winning sparkling strawberry wine. They also make cider, and there’s always a host of seasonal wines and experimental concoctions, plus some non-alcoholic versions to choose from too. Tours of the winery are available on Wednesdays and Sundays during the summer months (or by prior arrangement) and the well-stocked shop and café are open throughout the week. You can find them at many farmers’ markets, ready with a wee taster to try.
