Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

At Renroc, on a quiet street corner off Leith Walk, you can comfortably dine solo or meet with friends and family to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, or on a Friday evening, a candlelit dinner. Sit outside on sunny days, or experience the quirky ambience inside. The street level space is small and bright, with just a few tables, while a spiral staircase leads down to what was once an old bakery – the original baker’s oven is still in place alongside large chunky tables and sofas. The all-day breakfast menu is served weekdays, and bigger dishes are served everyday from noon, alongside a licensed drinks menu. Spiced pumpkin and butterbean soup with fresh wholegrain bread is hearty and flavoursome. Locally baked homemade cakes provide an indulgent treat, like chocolate and Guinness cake, rich and moist with a sweet buttercream topping. This neighbourhood café is certainly worth seeking out whether you live around this neck of the woods or not.
