Pittormie Fruit Farm and Nursery
Pittormie is an old-style farm shop, family-run and first and foremost an outlet for the produce from the farm. It is, however, a prodigious output, with strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, currants, loganberries and tayberries through the summer months, as well as fresh vegetables including lettuce, asparagus, peas and 20 types of potato. Some of the berries also make their way to Heather Ales' range of fruit beers and Cairn O Mohr’s fruit wines, plus they supply a number of Edinburgh shops. During the winter, business is transferred to a smaller ‘egg shed’, specialising in eggs, winter vegetables and jams, as well as lots of frozen fruit. A wide range of shrubs and plants is also available, while fruit can be picked by hand or bought ready-picked.
