Brodie Melrose Drysdale & Co Ltd
Not open to the public.
Brodies have been trading tea and coffee from Edinburgh since 1867. Their retail range of tea and coffee, fruit cakes and handmade chocolates can be found in specialist food halls, department stores and tourist visitor centres across the UK. Chocolates, introduced in 1993, are the after-dinner sort that sit alongside a cup of coffee: eight to a pack, they come into their own as a gift or holiday memento. Flavours are inspired by Scottish classics: a whisky selection, famous puddings (cranachan, Atholl brose) and the original and best-known Scottish berries box. These are now available worldwide, after Brodies was bought by Italy’s Massimo Zanetti group in 2007, but you can also go straight to source and pop in to the Newhailes estate unit.
