Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm
A family-run fruit farm, Wester Hardmuir has been hosting pick-your-own sessions, selling ready-picked fruit and supplying local businesses with soft fruit since 1989. They open in June for the rhubarb and early strawberries, then as the summer progresses sell gooseberries; black, white and redcurrants; blueberries; cherries; logan and tayberries, moving into brambles, plums and apples later in the year. PYO is available for strawberries and raspberries, including 'table-top' grown fruit for wet weather picking or for customers who can't bend so easily, and there's a picnic and children's play area to turn it into a day out. The farm shop sells this fruit, home-grown potatoes and other local produce, including seasonal vegetables, cheese, free range eggs, honey, ice-cream, meats, oat cakes, home baking and jams. Wester Hardmuir fruit is sold locally at Simpsons Garden Centre, Inverness; Brodie Countryfare, Forres; Househill Farm Shop, by Nairn, and Ramages, Nairn, among others.
