Bath St Burger
Burger joint with a funked-up 70s vibe, plus plenty of dogs, shakes, craft beer and cocktails.
Meaning to make a splash, new venture Bath St Burger balances a menu of meaty burgers and hotdogs with an eyebrow-raising range of thoughtful vegan options, such as the Earth, Wind and Fire – a satisfyingly greasy, spicy vegan burger topped with pulled jackfruit, jalapeño veganaise and smoked gouda-style cheese substitute. But the sterling effort on plant-based alternatives doesn’t mean carnivores are neglected. Consider the Pulled Pork Dog – an enormous, smoky German bratwurst piled high with juicy meat and slaw, with a delicious gherkin marmalade on the side. Or the Ghetto Blaster – a towering burger with two patties smothered in melted cheese with fiery pulled chilli brisket. No regular fries here: dirty fries are suped-up with crumbled bacon and hot queso; signature fries are covered in rosemary, parmesan and truffle oil. There are a nice couple of craft beers on draught, and a range of boozy milkshakes for those that crave a bit of the hard stuff – bourbon and cherry liqueur is creamy with a nice kick and not too sweet. Fitted out like a 1970s’ American diner complete with a wall of vintage tape decks, the booths can be moved to clear the floor for DJ nights.
