Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2019/20 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

You will have travelled a long way to get here by boat, plane or ferry, but the chances are that much of what you will be eating in the Coll Hotel’s Gannet Restaurant will not have. Fresh island vegetables, herbs, meat and fish overflow from a menu stuffed full of the sort of quality ingredients that city chefs salivate over. Start with Coll crab salad with Coll egg, anchovy & black olives or seared Coll scallops with crispy Parma ham, garlic & spinach. Then move on to homemade spaghetti with fresh Coll lobster and a local salad or Coll mutton loin chops with a herb crust served with sautéed potatoes & Coll greens. Dine in the bar area or the dining room in this old whitewashed hotel and then enjoy a digestif outside as the sun melts over the Hebrides. As the Coll Hotel is the island’s only hotel and bar in the only real village of Arinagour this is very much the hub of the local community so you can join the locals there afterwards and chat to visiting yachties in summer.

The Coll hotel is a small island hotel with a big welcome.

The hotel sit at the head of Arinagour bay with stunning bay views looking across to the Treshnish isles and Mull. Most of the hotel bedrooms, garden and our restaurant make the most of our location.

Our restaurant menus change regularly and celebrate Coll and Argyll’s rich larder with creel caught shellfish including langoustines, lobster and crab, Coll Hebridean lamb and Coll grown salad and vegetables. Everything is cooked from scratch so can be adjusted to suit dietary needs.

We are proud to be fully accessible, with our accessible bedroom having direct access to the blue badge parking. We are truly ‘open for all’ Booking ahead is always advisable, to avoid disappointment.
