Boasting one of the few proper wood-fired ovens in the Highlands, this bright and quirky harbourside café majors on artisan pizzas and shellfish landed just yards from the kitchen door. Daily blackboard specials are on display every lunch and evening with options including local venison burgers, Shetland mussels and imaginative toppings along the lines of haggis, neeps and black pudding for their home-made pizzas. On Saturday nights the oven is also put to good use slow-roasting Black Isle pork and lamb overnight in preparation for Sunday lunch the following day. The roasts are joined by fish specials, langoustines and some proper homemade puds like lemon posset and sticky toffee pudding. A lively, community-oriented social programme includes film nights and fundraising events. This local focus is continued in their new venture, Couper's Creek, an ice-cream parlour serving Black Isle ices alongside light lunches, and selling locally-made gifts and jewellery.
