The List Reader Award is launches search for your favourite restaurants in Edinburgh and Glasgow
Award winners will be announced in April at the Eating & Drinking Guide Launch Party
The last 23 annual editions of The List's Eating and Drinking Guide have provided readers with a comprehensive and reliable guide to the dining scene in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Our team of around 80 reviewers are sent out into each city in the first three months of the year to eat anonymously at almost 1000 venues.
Their well-informed reviews make it easier to digest an ever growing and ever changing dining scene in both cities, yet choosing where to book a table remains a tricky task. Our Hitlists and Tiplists aim to point you in the right direction, but we thought we would ask you, our lovely readers, to tell us what your favourite restaurant is in Edinburgh or Glasgow. The places that receive the most online votes in each city will receive the List Reader Award, in association with Birra Moretti.
At the annual Eating and Drinking Guide Launch Party our Newcomer of the Year award is presented to a restaurant that's opened in Edinburgh or Glasgow in the last year and brought creativity, quality and originality to the eating and drinking scene. For our 23rd edition, the winners in Edinburgh were the Edinburgh Food Studio and El Cartel Casera Mexicana and in Glasgow, Eusebi Deli and 111 by Nico. The New Bar Award is also presented to a bar in each city that has become one of the most popular for a tipple or two which this year was Smith & Gertrude and six°north. The Special Award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the food and drink scene, such as 2016's winner and founder of The Outsider, Ting Thai Caravan and WildManWood Pizza, Malcolm Innes.
The List Reader Award will now be an additional accolade presented at the party, where the winner is chosen not by our team of reviewers and editors, but by you. The award is in association with Birra Moretti who have kindly offered one lucky voter a VIP experience plus two tickets to the Eating & Drinking Guide Awards for an evening of food, drink and entertainment. Plus, by voting you're helping to support and acknowledge restaurants that have contribute to Scotland's rich foodie culture.
Voting closes on 1 Apr 2017. The 24th edition of The List Eating and Drinking Guide is out in late April.
