Eating & Drinking Awards

At Cabaret Voltaire, four excellent restaurants received Eating and Drinking Guide Best Newcomer awards, with two more receiving our inaugural Readers’ Awards in association with Taste of Edinburgh. Attendants sipped a range of refreshments courtesy of Great Grog and sponsors Heather Cream, Kronenbourg and Strathmore water, while Herbie provided a range of delicious canapés. Thanks to all of our sponsors for making the party go with a bang and to everyone at Cabaret Voltaire and The Speakeasy for hosting the night.

Edinburgh’s The Dogs and Wedgwood the Restaurant won Best Newcomer Awards for originality and commitment, and inventive higher-end dining respectively. In Glasgow, eclectic Japanese restaurant Nanakusa received the Best Newcomer Award for affordability and innovation and Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery received the same award for destination and elegance dining.

The Readers’ Awards went to trendy Guy’s in Glasgow and Urban Angel in Edinburgh, while the Judges’ Special Award went to Andy Lane of Loch Fyne Oysters. In association with the Eating and Drinking Guide, The List also announced its new LIST Card to encourage dining in a wide variety of Scottish restaurants. The card offers diners ‘two for one’ promotions throughout the year when used at participating restaurants. There will also be many short-term deals offered to card holders through The List website.
