Taste-buds at the ready! Following the success of last year’s festival, Taste of Edinburgh is set to return in May with an even bigger line-up.

As well as having the opportunity to sample taster dishes from 20 of Edinburgh’s top restaurants, festival goers will be able to eat and drink from up to 100 speciality food and drink suppliers.

Scotland’s Michelin-starred chefs Martin Wishart and Andrew Fairlie will headline, alongside Lady Claire MacDonald and The Tower’s James Thomson.

Restaurants involved in the four-day festival include Centotre, Creelers, Dakota, Ducks at le Marché Noir, Forth Floor at Harvey Nichols, Number One at The Balmoral, Plumed Horse, Restaurant Martin Wishart, Restaurant David Bann, Roti, Santini and The Tower.

Sarah Forbes, Taste of Edinburgh Event Director, said: ‘Our restaurants’ inspiration comes from the four corners of the globe and showcases not only the best of Edinburgh’s food scene, but also Scotland’s celebrated national larder.

It will be a gastronomic delight for food aficionados with more restaurants, celebrity chefs, features and exhibitors, coupled with ticket prices remaining the same as 2007 – it looks all set for a great day out.’

Taste Festivals is the brainchild of Brand Events and Channel 4, which launched them in September 2006. Last year, Taste events were held in Edinburgh, Dublin, London, Bath and Birmingham.

This year, Leeds replaces Dublin in the line up of events taking place across the UK.
