Food For Thought

I love to start the day with a breakfast of a greasy fry-up from a local café in Holloway where I live. I’m spending a lot of time on the road just now, so lunch is usually a cheeseburger from McDonalds. I’d love to say I eat healthy sandwiches with yoghurts and fruit, but I don’t.
For me dinner is usually a take-away. I love roast duck and boiled rice from the Chinese, and prawn crackers taste fantastic the next morning. I’m still a ten-year-old at heart, so I drink a pint of Coke with my dinner. I’m not a big fan of desserts – to me a pint makes a good pudding.
When it comes to snacks I’m definitely more savoury than sweet. I’ll have crackers and pâté if I’m feeling posh, or a packet of cheap crisps like Tangy Toms if I’m not. I like bananas too. I try to keep alcohol for weekends, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Today we started drinking cans of Stella on the tour bus at 11am. I gave up smoking about a year ago. I was on antibiotics so I couldn’t drink, and that helped me quit.
Parka play Capitol, Glasgow on Sat 1 Mar & Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh on Fri 7 Mar. The band’s single, Better Anyway, is out on Mon 21 Apr on Jeepster.
