Tell us your suggestions and win a chance to get involved in our massive takeaway project

Later this month, The List is going to order a takeaway. Not just one, but 100: 50 in Glasgow and 50 in Edinburgh. All will be delivered to the same venue on the same evening, at which The List's Eating & Drinking Guide team will be ready and waiting to tuck in. Covering Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Italian, pizza -- in fact, anything that can be ordered over the phone and delivered to your door, The List's Big Takeaway 2012 will allow us to test the best around town and we'll share all the results with you in our November issue.

But where should we be ordering from? Who do you call to get the best takeaway in town? Which specialities really are special? Let us know your recommendations -- and why -- and the best responses in each city will win an invitation to join us at the Big Takeaway table.

Add your suggestions in the Comments section below for a chance to join us at The Big Takeaway 2012.

I'm partial to the Lemon Tree in Glasgow for Chinese.

Chilli Express on Maryhill Rd @ Tescos. Everything is amazing, especially pakora/kebabs/mains.

Yummy food at Garscube Rd, though they don't deliver. Salt & Chilli Pork Chops.

Definitely Los Cardos on Leith Walk, Edinburgh. Great burritos, quesadillas and tacos - with delicious home made salsa in a variety of hotness levels. Plus, the packaging is enviromentally friendly too and the staff are friendly.

Ocean Spice in Newhaven is good too - a tad expensive but really delicious curries.

I'm a weedgie living in the burgh so have some favourites in both cities! It's got to be a good old Jalhandhri from the Ashoka Ashton Lane in Glasgow or a 'Curry in a Hurry' from The Raj on The Shore in Edinburgh. They deliver beer along with your curry!

Carnug, ditto - another weegie in the burgh here (Leith specifically so will be investigating your recommendation of The Raj!). In addtition to the ones I've already mentioned, my family's been getting takeaways from the Alishan on Battlefield Road, Glasgow for years, yum yum yum.

For Edinburgh:

Agree with ArrrJay re Los Cardos.

Also...Thaipad on London Road for outstanding Thai. They're not always the quickest on delivery but you're always told if it's going to be longer and I've never, ever been disappointed with the food.

Origano on Leith Walk does really great pizza. Though Favorita's not far behind.

For something a bit different, I'd highly recommend Spoilt for Choice on Marionville Road - African & Caribbean food.

I think you have to try Eastern Spices in Howard Place. They are always good. Love the Chicken Shajani and the Chicken Pakora. Enjoy it:)

It has to be Mama's Rasoi in Howard Street, Glasgow (just by the St. Enoch Centre). They have a stunning vegetarian selection, cooked to perfection and large garlic and coriander naan (best in Glasgow) and have quick and friendly delivery (great if you sit in too). They deliver mango lassi, mmm. Our meat eating friends also highly recommend! Agree with Raj in Leith, had that once when staying in Edinburgh, impressive choices.
