The launch event for the 16th annual List Eating & Drinking Guide celebrated the year’s finest dining experiences on offer in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The event, at Glasgow’s Centre for Contemporary Arts, saw four excellent restaurants receive Eating & Drinking Guide Best Newcomer Awards, with two more receiving our inaugural Readers’ Awards, in association with Taste of Edinburgh.

Glasgow’s Crabshakk won our Newcomer of the Year award for conviviality and style with Edinburgh’s Mother India picking up the Newcomer of the Year for refreshing and informal budget eating.
Banana Leaf was awarded the Glasgow Newcomer of the Year for uncompromising and inspiring eating whilst the Edinburgh Newcomer of the Year for bold and broad-ranging bistro dining award went to L’escargot Bleu.

The List Readers’ Awards went to Gibson Street landmark Stravaigin in Glasgow, whilst chic Tigerlily won our readers’ hearts in Edinburgh. This year’s Judges’ Special Award went to Ronnie Clydesdale of cultural institution, The Ubiquitous Chip, for his contribution to the world of eating and drinking in Scotland.

Attendants sipped a range of refreshments courtesy of Birra Moretti and Great Grog, while Encore catering and the CCA Café provided the delicious canapés. Thanks to all of our sponsors for making the party go off with a bang and to everyone at the CCA for hosting the night.
