I went here on my birthday, plenty staff, ordered a traditional thistly cross cider due to almost prohibitive pricing of I+G branded drinks, i was promptly brought and original thistly cross, which i accepted out of politeness, i then ordered haggis bon bons, and a burger, the rest of my group (3) ordered burgers to, 1 haggis bonbons, 4 burgers, well the 4 burgers arrived, but not my starter, mines was a venison burger, i sadly found that it had been put on a cold place, just after my fries which were cool to the touch and bland to the palate, the burger didnt fare much better, slightly tough, poorly presented, not enough relish etc, now dont get me wrong, i am NOT a particularly fussy person, but there was NO excuse for getting my basic order wrong on 2 counts, as well as disappointing me on taste and quality, i didnt feel that it was worth what we paid, and i will also NOT be going back, despite loving the beer they make.
Our conclusiong was generally that : YOU MUST TRY HARDER INNIS AND GUNN!!!! Mr B

Enjoyed dinner and drinks over the weekend.
All in all very impresed. Food was tasty and the Irish Venison burger is simply amazing. The menu has a decent selection of dishes and it has something for everyone, my only slight complaint being there aren't enough starters to choose from.
More importantly the beers were excelent, huge selection of craft products. The waitress recomended the Scottish Pale Ale Innis and Gunn which was the first time I had tried it and I enjoyed it. Also had a bottle of William Brothers beer, I had never tried or heard of before. It would be nice to see more Innis & Gunn draught products but we were told these are coming in August so fingers crossed.

The new pop-up Innis and Gunn bar on Potterrow seemed like a great idea - I like their readily available beers, was keen to try some more, and their Scottish themed menu (prices around £10 a plate) all suggested it was worth a look. I went as part of a group of 4 on a Tuesday night for drinks and a meal.
The setting is fine - very similar to the previous bar that was there, but nothing too exciting.
The first surprise was the lack of Innis and Gunn beer on draught - they only seemed to have the 'original' style. Second surprise was the price - £5.95 per bottle! To put that in perspective, whilst they were selling some varieties of their beer you can't easily get elsewhere, the usual asking price in a bar is £3-4 per bottle, and it's about £2 a bottle in a supermarket. I don't mind paying premium price if something else about the experience of going to this bar was great, but it wasn't - it just feels like another bar.
Unfortunately it goes down hill from here. The bar staff did not know what beer they had in stock. I think I overheard them saying they were covering the regular staff, but at these prices that's not good enough. I bought one of their beers on the basis that the one I wanted wasn't available, but actually, it was.
We ordered 4 different dishes, all of which disappointed. The venison burger was extremely dry. The chicken burger was unspectacular. The haggis neeps and tatties were bland (the whisky sauce was tasteless). And the 'beer battered' fish and chips I ordered was watery, and the batter didn't taste of much at all.
We won't be going back.
