I have to say that I am shocked about the previous comments- I have been into the rosehip on a couple of occasions (once for a christmas party) and a couple of times for lunch and have always had good service. The food is not Michelin star quality but it doesn't claim to be. The waitresses that work at the rosehip have always been very attentive yet there is no hint of cheesy Service (like Jamie's next door). In my opinion this place is ten times better than what it was as seadogs- much less stuffy and pretentious. It's nice to see a privately owned restaurant in the city centre rather than just ANOTHER chain. For a restaurant in its first year it's doing a good job!

On Tueday the 21st August we arrived at the restuarant AT 12.30PM
My wife and I order Cullen Skink follwed by Caesar salad with chicken.
The wait for our food was so long I inquired what on earth had happened. About five minutes later it fially arrived.
The Cullen Skink did not taste the slightest like it should. There seemed to be no smoked fish for a start and there was a slightly unpleasant vinagar taste,
The Caesar salad did not have the correct dressing and the chicken was as hard as nails.
I told the staff that it was the most disgusting meal that had ever been put before us. They said they would tell the chef.
Frankly I doubt there was one.
FOR GOODNESS SAKE AVOID THE ROSEHIP !

Was ignored for several minutes upon arriving - it wouldn't have cost much to smile or acknowledge us but that set the scene for the rest of the lunch. Poor, slow, inattentive service with average food. It was even a struggle to pay the incorrect bill. Not impressive at all.

Recently taken over from Sea Dogs, it is a shambles. Average food, dodgy access thru industrial area to the toilet, and poor, poor, poor service. Had to wait for a unreasonable amount of time to be served by only one member of staff trying to run the restaurant and bar, and when this was mentioned to staff member she just giggled.!!!
