The Larder

Listed in The Larder – in the shops now or buy online.

On the High Street and within walking distance of Crail harbour, Honeypot is a friendly informal tearoom that stretches breakfast into afternoon tea with a familiar lunch offering sandwiched in-between. While the rooms in the connected B&B grab the available sea views, the café is nonetheless fresh and bright with cream walls, timber floorboards and a smattering of tables alongside the open servery counter. Local butcher Penmans supplies the meat for rolls or plated breakfasts, while Edna ensures a steady supply of homemade cakes and traybakes. Crumbly savoury cheese scones are teamed with freshly prepared lentil soup alongside familiar baked potato fillings, brie and grape or haggis and bacon toasties. Chalkboard specials bring spicy black pudding and chorizo panini with tangy red onion marmalade alongside smoked salmon, cream cheese and romaine lettuce sandwiches. Beer and wine choices complement freshly ground coffee and the nostalgic reappearance of ice cream floats. Co-owner Graham keeps the front of house convivial with talk of June’s Crail Food Festival and the occasional road testing of vinaigrettes and sauces on locals and visitors.
