Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2013 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

This review is taken from the current (2013) edition.

This jolly little Italian café opposite Kelvingrove Art Gallery makes a handy stop for a bite and a coffee (or a glass of BYOB), with a small menu of panini, salads, pizzas and snacks, as well as breakfast rolls and bagels, available with a selection of fillings. Small and simple are no obstacles to quality here – the pizzas are freshly baked and perfectly crispy with generous toppings like chunky mixed roast vegetables or spicy cajun chicken. Wee versions are ideal for children, who can choose their own exact toppings if they're the fussy sort. All the sides have an Italian flavour, with bowls of olives or focaccia topped with sea salt. There are locally baked, gluten-free cakes as well as biscuits and muffins. A friendly, breezy atmosphere with wooden tables and big windows, along with cheerful Italian pop music, give it a summery air no matter the weather outside.

Takeaway review
Nestling opposite Kelvingrove Gallery, the Little Café has been offering its pizza, deli, and coffee wares for around three years but has only recently begun offering a delivery service. From Monday to Saturday you can order up one of their delicious thin-based pizzas, though on Sundays its collection only – offering the chance of a stroll in the park to the café itself to take one home with you. If the bases are good, the toppings are of the same quality, and the café’s deli leanings mean that you can munch on the sumptuous pastrami and rocket combo. If you’re looking for some additional greenery, then their Mediterranean salad is a fresh and tasty treat.
