For a new LGBT café owner in Edinburgh, straying away from the pink-tinged pavements of Broughton Street might be a bold move, but one which Innes Drummond believes is necessary. Having previously run a guesthouse with her partner for ten years, she saw a gap in the market for a new spot outwith Edinburgh’s usual gay hub. The venture opened in November 2010 with a wholesome menu and relaxed vibe, serving an array of homely breakfasts and lunches. Avoiding the hipster clichés, Drummond’s bright and welcoming café is more comfy chic than corporate coffee joint.
