Cairn o' Mohr Winery is well worth a visit to sample the range of wines made from local fruits, flowers and leaves, made from fruit either grown on the family farm or within 20 miles of it. New to the range is a cider, made from a combination of local vintage apples and more modern ones, all from people's gardens. Tour the winery to see the wine-making process and try the café, which sells hearty bowls of soups, stovies of the day as well as daily specials. Or try their unusual scones – gorgonzola and grape, anyone?
