The Old Ship Inn

Myself and a group of friends were in the pub celebrating on a Sunday night. Although the man running the karaoke was friendly and welcoming towards us, the barmaid directed a poor attitude to us from the moment we were in. We were celebrating a wedding so some members of the group were jumping about and singing and dancing, as would be expected on such an occasion. The barmaid seemed to dislike this and I noticed her scowling over at the table numerous times, and rudely complained "you're splitting my head". After one of us spilled a pint, she decided to kick us out saying "I'm not being paid for this so I'm not going to clean up your mess." I would suggest the pub gets some proper staff, who aren't sour-faced, mannerless, unprofessionals who feel the need to impose their own problems on others.

I have also recently moved to perth. I found this gem of a pub few days after arriving and must agree with the reviewer below. I had been reluctant to go into a pub on my own but have been made to feel very welcome by the staff and customers alike. While I don't go out very often whenever I do I pay a trup to the Old Ship Inn. I couldn't fault the pub or it's staff.

My partner and myself have recently started drinking in the old ship inn and have found it to be a friendly and happy place to go. We find the bar staff to be very friendly and helpful and always welcoming. We have also found the regulars to also be friendly and always willing to chat to new faces hence why we now use it regularly. If your looking for a friendly place to drink with a warm welcome and in the heart of the town without the trouble of being in the city centre that most pubs experience then come to the old ship inn.

this place is a dump and the bar staff are the rudest people i have ever met.

I went here with my colleagues for a celebratory drink on Friday night. From the range of drinks ordered, the wine is undrinkable and the soft drinks tasted of cleaning fluids. As I walked past one of the girls at the jukebox I got elbowed (still not figured out the reason except she was pretty drunk). By this point I was ready to leave. The reason why I will never return was that having told one of my colleagues that one of the girls deliberately elbowed me as I walked past, the barmaid must have overheard the conversation and promptly told the girl's friend what I said. I hope to goodness I misinterpreted the situation as I can't believe that barstaff would delibertaley try to antagonise. Unprofessional and unfriendly.
