The Parlour Café is always popular, as you can tell by the steamed up windows when you walk past. A tiny whitewashed rough brick place with only half a dozen small tables, it is nonchalantly trendy, and is extremely popular with the uni’s cooler students, either for one of their excellent teas or coffees or for something more substantial from their healthy range of toasties and speciality sandwiches. There is a leaning towards quality veggie fare, and they have a great choice of home baked sweetie bites as well a host of other tasty treats from their sister deli a few doors down the road.
- Provides: Vegetarian options (at least ¼ main courses)

First visit - nice cafe and impressive display of fresh snacks and home baking. Major criticism however - a new staff member did not use tongs when serving cakes and later she went outside for a cig but failed to wash her hands on return to the food area, yuk! Hygene training required. This would definitely put me off returning in the future which is a shame because other than that it was a pleasant venue.

I and others come here for coffee and cake for a break from our department - coffee is always good and the cakes are filling but worth fighting through.
It does have a good atmosphere but as it is quite small and can get very busy you sometimes feel that you shouldn't sit and chat for too long once the coffee and cake are all finished.
