Snuggled on Perth Road in the West End, Agacan is named after its flamboyant owner, and the idiosyncratic wee place is rammed with the man’s oddball artworks, the open kitchen acting as a stage for him to perform on most nights as well. The food is uncomplicated but carefully prepared and served up in large portions. Main courses are dominated by kebabs, the sis kofte (minced lamb) and pirzola (lamb cutlets) being the tastiest bets. There is Turkish beer and surprisingly palatable Turkish wine and you can finish with a sticky sweet slice of baklava and an eye-popping Turkish coffee.

Visited the agacan, Perth road, Dundee Saturday 29th July 2012, because it had been recommended. The place is a disgrace, food was bland, and the space given for diners is shameful. The cooks continually left the premises to go outside to smoke, the smell of smoke drifted back into the restaurant, and on their return, none of them washed their hands. In fact, there didn't appear to be a sink available for them to do so. Where is the environmental health when you need them. Menu is very small, and main courses pricey at around sixteen pounds. The whole experience was awful, we will never return there.

This place really must have gone downhill since the last review was added, judging by our experience! Food burnt beyond recognition, bad hygiene and rude staff - what happened? Unfortunately, the staff seem to think they have enough regular customers to be able to treat a complaint with disdain and have an attitude of "if you don't like it, don't come back, you won't be missed" We won't!

If you are looking for a place to take your time and catch up with friends over a meal this is not the place to go. You have to be in and out within an hour. Staff make it pretty clear you've overstayed your welcome . Despite this the food is good !

This has to be the best place in town without a doubt. proven by how long you have to book in advance for a table. It can do you waste line no good ask my wife. might look expensive but the portions are reflected in the price. Bit wary then? then try a take out. will not be let down.
