I used to frequent this place regularly a few years ago - loved the atmosphere, food and service. I visited a couple of times in the last week and the place was deserted. Despite there being several members of staff working, my party were left having to go up to the bar to order drinks, then again for food. They were too busy cleaning the shelves than making sure the customers were served.
It has definitely put me off returning. I think the place has so much potential and it's a real shame that it's not busy but then not surprising. My party were prepared to spend some money on both evenings but didn't get the chance because the staff were so reluctant to take our orders!!

Nice decor, nice coffee, the concept of free wifi (it didn't work) is nice too - but it was unbearable after about fifteen minutes with the intense blaring music which honestly had SPOTIFY ADVERTS (it costs £5 a month to get rid of them, there's no excuse). I honestly couldn't believe that the music (and adverts) could influence the experience of a cafe/restaurant so much but here's the proof. I won't be returning.

Used to love going there, not any more. Surly staff last Friday refused to turn down the music (heavy metal interspersed with adverts from Spotify!) or change the type of music despite there being only about 4 people in. They then refused to give me the owner or manager's email address to make a complaint. We left shortly thereafter (had planned to stay for food) and I don't think I'll be back. Went there almost every week for a couple of years or more. I couldn't believe they could ever have been so unfriendly.

I would pretty much avoid this place - it is tired and pretty dingy. I went in last night for a latte and it tasted like hot water with no milk or coffee. This place could be brilliant as it is a great location with lots of windows but inside it is pretty depressing - worn floors, worn chairs, lacklustre menu. I remember once ordering pasta with pesto and I got a massive plate of dry pasto with a tiny splodge of shop bought pesto in the middle with. Disgusting.

I came across the above review while browsing for info on Espresso Mondo to pass on to some pals I'm having dinner with next week and I just want to say the whole thing is nonsense.
I have been a very satisfied customer of this establishment since I started working in the Centre a few years ago and I visit at least twice a month. The staff are very approachable, the atmosphere is great and there's always a good music album on, reflecting on the good taste of the owner (that's big in my culture). Finally, the food is great. Always plenty of it, freshly cooked and not too processed. I have not once experienced the ghastly sysmptoms described by our hypocrondiac buddy...
Oh, and if you are on your day off and fancy scrambled eggs and bacon on toast and a free read of the Guardian this is your place. There.

Only go here if you enjoy being violently ill the day following your meal. Management didn't offer any apologies or any room to believe it was their fault so customer service is also apalling. The Brazilian Chicken Wrap that caused it all was lame at best yet the source of a horrific bodily trauma. Don't do it.
