Great building, good music and cracking food. Would have given five if not for the ridiculous attitude of the bar man this particular Sunday night. The waiter was welcoming and friendly, however his counterpart was very sarcastic and unhelpful to my girlfriend upon ordering despite, us obviously never entering the building before.
If there was any way of guaranteeing an improvement on this issue, then would happily return and grade higher. A shame!

This is the sort of place to go with groups - you're not going to get fabulous food and drinks here, but you should be able to see that from looking, it's a noisy, casual, after-work sort of place.

Monday 30/04/2012 was the bad time I never have In home. It was in the afternoon FROM 4PM. The usual people who used to work there were absent and I do not know if they were busy. Instead there was a team of some new faces to serve the food, the drink etc. They were very bad, they did not know what they were doing. We order the food but they forgoted completely what we ordered. At the end they brote us pieces of food that we did not ordered. I THINK IT IS A MISTAKE TO PUT PEOPLE IN CHARGE IF THEY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. THERE SHOULD BE ALWAYS A MEMBER OF STUFF WHO KNOWS THE JOB WHEN NEW PEOPLE ARE IN CHARGE!!!!!

A lot of reviews that are bad for this place seem to be blaming the other customers for their poor scores, despite the fact they had a good time, I had a great nigh in Home and will definitely be back ,yes it can be a bit loud but of you wnt epace and quiet go to a library, its a bar for goodness sake!!!

I love this bar, and have been drinking here for a while now. It's very eclectic and you get all age groups and demographics in here. For the merchant city it's not at all pretentious which makes you feel more relaxed. Food is really good especially for the price. They do 2 meals for £5 or something and they are good portions.
The staff are all really friendly and make a good cocktail. Again these are some of the cheapest you will find in the area.
The place can get really busy at the weekend and getting a seat can be hard but it's usually a good atmosphere with a DJ playing.
Some of the furniture could do with being replaced and it would be good if they were open later at weekends but these are just minor complaints.

been in home a few times. never had any complaints until now. in there last thurs in a party of ten as some family visiting from abroad. party of ten ladies, aged 28-55 so not exactly a party of ravers. lovely meal. shame a daft barmaid ruined the experience by physically trying to stop our party from leaving at the door as she thought we had lifted a bottle of wine from the table. very unrespectful. would never go back to home again and would not recommend it. sadly cant find a website for home to post on that directly. food was really nice and reasonable but to have no manners and speak to a 55 year old woman in such a patronising manner was un-necessary!

I visit home a lot, its one of the better places to visit in Glasgow that is not filled with people from lower socio economic groups. Its very comfortable and the price is good. I have always had exceptional service from the staff, the bouncers are nice too. Food is really good for the price, and location. The cocktails are good, and full strength which is a plus, as a lot of establishments seem to short customers with this. Its the place I go when I go out in Glasgow, and the people I have met there have always been pleasant and friendly, unlike a lot of other Glasgow hangouts.
The only negative is you can see up peoples skirts that are up the stairs on the balcony, however its not like its a normal direction to point your head, so unless you are deliberately looking all the time, you wont notice.
If you want a seat on a Friday or Saturday night, i would definitely recommend booking, as it will be hard to find one. :)

Been here a few occassions, food is ok and decently priced and the atmosphere has been good. However on Saturday afternoon the attitude of the staff left a lot to be desired. Unhelpful to the point of rude and mixed the worst 'cocktails' I have ever tasted. My friend couldn't even drink hers. Hoping for a relaxed Saturday late afternoon lunch, we couldn't even hear ourselves think due to the number of distastefully dressed schreeching hen party goers that had chosen Home as their starting venue. It didn't help that our table was situated under the slat stairs which meant that whenever one of these hens walked down the stairs in their short skirts we could see everything... Not pretty. Until Saturday I thought home retained merchant city chic at a reasonable price, however I left sorely disappointed and with no desire to return any time soon.
