Just back from Fathers Day Carvery in the Crowne Plaza.......One Restaurant,
This restaurant could possibly be named accordingly due to definitely only ever visiting it the once! The soup which was Pea was tasteless dishwater, roll & butter was lovely. My mum and sister opted for the cold starter from the buffet which was okay but fish was rubbery! Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. Not long you may think however we were the only people in the restuarant at that time. The charming host named Mel was the highlight of our visit. He could not have been more helpful. The carvery (which was unmanned!!??) yes we though odd aswell. The host said he would sent the chef when I said do we help ourself..? This happened to every table as the place started to fill up....... very odd indeed. It was very off putting to see that all the carvery items lay out fo the full 45 minutes until we started our main course. The laughable factor was that the chef handed us a napkin for the plate as he carved the dryed out roast beef. The plate was the warmest thing about lunch. The yorkshire pudding was cold, as was the vegetables. A skin had formed on most of the dishes including the chilli con carne...the pudding was an even bigger disaster made up of geletine based cheesecakes and other horiffic items that fitted in the tiniest dishes that the pudding stuck out of. The drinks were fine but glad to have left and never to be returning. Would not recommend this for dining even if you were resident. Try McDonalds for a far superior meal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
