Also bought vouchers, and everytime we want to order something , they say they don't have it there's no stock. Personally I think they don't want to give us the expensive food because it was a cheap voucher we bought. Terrible. It is not the first time this has happened. Ordered beef, thy dont have it, order coffee there machine has broke! It has been like this for a couple of months every time we come back.

The service is so BAD , never ever have I been so offended. Staff is totally rude, no manager. Took an hour for a dish to arrive! Staff went to the toilet in a huff and ran to toilet after we asked her to order 4 times in sauchiehall street. Absolutely appalling, can't even rate the horrific service because it it so bad.

Was in oko for the first time on Monday night and i must admit i really enjoyed the food the service from the waitress was also fantastic.
I found out that it is not yet a franchise which kind of shows with the decor inside could do with a bit of a vamp. But everything else positive and i will definitely go back with friends.
Waitress explained that they are under new ownership and that another oko will be opening this year some maybe this one will be fresher inside.

unfortunately oko has moved into the late night food market that brings with it every drunk in the location to the door. With this oko has adopted a don't give a crap attitude to pretty much every customer to have the privellage to walk through the door ( thats what the member of staff on the door suggests). Customer service is shocking and for atakeaway a bit pricey £19.20 for 2 takeaway curries. No sushi even although it is clear the sushi is in the stand at the front.
Only saving grace is the food was very good....The good old kitchen team must have to put one hell of a shift in at night. Its just a real shame the front of house don't care.

I've been here perhaps a dozen times or so over the last 3-4 years and enjoyed it.
Unfortunately, my last visit was not so enjoyable.
It was a Friday night, about 8pm and I decided to have something to eat prior to meetiing up with friends nearby. I was 'greeted' by a male member of staff who gave the impression that waiting tables was beneath him and it would only be a matter of days before he was discovered by a large Hollywood studio and taken away from the grind of 'service.'
So, without a smile or greeting, I was directed to a table. I ordered the green chicken curry. Well, it was yellow and I couldn't state with absolute cetainty that the main part of the meal was chicken. It wasn't seasoned and it wasn't in any way tasty. This dish used to be far far tastier than this.
As another reviewer has mentioned, the imposition of a 10% service charge (for a table of 1) is outrageous. As the old gag goes, 'they should have been wearing a mask.' At least Dick Turpin had a smile on his face when relieving travellers of their assets.
I would not recommend it.

Went to Oko on Queen St tonight as Ichiban was too busy. Had always wanted to try Oko but after tonight we'll never be back. We were met at the door by a really dour faced girl (who never smiled ONCE throughout our entire time in the restaurant) and shown to our table. Service was pretty quick but the food was awful. We're creatures of habit and always order tuna nigiri, salmon maki and gyoza as starters/side dishes, none of the sushi tasted fresh, tasted quite "fishy" which it shouldn't do but the steamed gyoza was ok. On to the mains... My husband will always order the katsu curry (only options, chicken or veggie) he went for the chicken. The breadcrumbs went really soggy really quickly and the sauce was mediocre. I had the seafood with yaki soba noodles, the seafood was mainly squid which I usually love but this had been cooked to within an inch of it's chewability and gave you the impression that you were chewing on rubber bands... There were a few sad looking mussels and some small overcooked prawns lurking about but these were equally bad. By the end of the bowl all I could smell was stale fish... If you're looking for a good Japanese meal you've got Ichiban a few doors down and Nana Kusa's on Sauchiehall St which is def worth the taxi fare/sore feet up to it

We used to come here all the time. The food WAS great, as WAS the service. Not anymore. After two different visits over the last month, one take away and one sit in, I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. The freshness of the meat has gone downhill, severely. On both occasions we were charged a "Sce Incl.". I'm guessing this is an automatic service charge!?!? It worked out to 10% exactly Why? The current staff are neither friendly or courteous. Though everything was moved along VERY quickly, I felt more like they wanted us out, to do away with the inconvenience of customers than to be bothered with serving. Perhaps this has to do with the 4:30am closes. We were not drunk and coming from some random club at 3am, but in at 6pm and 430pm on a Tuesday and Sunday. We would have been happy to stay for a few more drinks until the staff served us with a bill. We were two of maybe six customers. I usually tip at least 20%, but after the SCE INCL. and the staff treatment, I actually felt like complaining as opposed to leaving a tip. At least the food, AT ONE POINT IN TIME, tasted good. Bye. We won't be back. Ichiban is next door. At least they're courteous.

Lovely restaurant with great service and value for money. The cooking is far superior to that of it's neighbour Ichiban. Big portions of fresh sushi and having tried most of the dishes on the menu I can say that not one was a disappointment.

I've been a loyal customer of this establishment since it opened because it's excellent freshly prepared sushi, friendly helpful staff and very reasonable prices just keep bringing me back!
I thoroughly reccomend the tuna mayo inside-out roll, and the chicken teriyaki temakis! They're just fantastic.
I've tried all the major japanese restraunts in glasgow and for sushi this is definitely number one, well worth giving it a go!
